Everything together
The name comes from two places we keep coming back to. Sumba, an island in Indonesia, means return to source. And Pangea was the supercontinent when all the land on Earth was one connected body.
Sumbea is the symbol between them: a world reconnected, and a planet returned to its original, whole form. We design places that remember we are all part of one living system — humans, creatures, soil, water, technology, and the unseen beings we share it with.
Sumbea is also extremely playful. Because rebuilding the world should feel like wonder, not work.
Our three priorities

Our story
Sumbea grew from a decade spent walking the world's great communities and studying what helps people and places thrive.
Years spent living inside nearly a thousand retreat centers, ecovillages, monasteries, farms, and houseboats across six continents — from Findhorn to Damanhur, Bali to Hawaii. Every Summit we ran, every circle we held, every system we studied became part of a living library of what makes communities actually work.
What it taught us: a thriving place is designed, not wished into being.

Between us we've walked nearly a thousand holistic centers across six continents — tents, farms, houseboats, monasteries, food forests, and retreat halls — studying what makes a place genuinely healthy, joyful, and able to last. Out of that journey came this studio: building the most magical places on earth, stitched together into one quiet invitation, designed so our children can care for them for generations to come.
